Government and Legislative Advocacy
Policy work by lawyers who have helped draft national legislation.
Regulation is written somewhere before it lands on your business. Our lawyers have been in the rooms where that happens — they have served in senior roles in the Senate and assisted in drafting landmark national legislation — and that experience is what this practice offers clients.
Shaping the rules
Legislative monitoring — tracking the bills and regulatory proposals that touch your industry, nationally and locally — and advocacy when the text is still movable: position papers, draft comments, and testimony supporting or opposing proposed legislation and regulation. Effective advocacy is precise drafting arriving at the right moment: we help clients say exactly what they need changed and put it before the offices empowered to change it.
Working with government
Government transactions, including public-private partnerships, government-linked projects, and unsolicited proposals — and agency navigation: getting matters heard and decided by the offices that hold them.
When government audits and prosecutes
The State is also a counterparty, and it audits like one. A significant part of this practice is defense work: representing government contractors and public officials in Commission on Audit disallowance proceedings and the Ombudsman investigations that follow them, and pursuing money claims against government agencies for work delivered and unpaid. These cases run for years across multiple audit cycles — we manage them as campaigns, not as one-off filings.
Who we act for
Businesses in regulated industries, contractors and suppliers to government, industry associations, and public officials. For regulated businesses, this practice runs alongside our energy, competition, and technology and artificial intelligence work.
