Labor
Hiring, discipline, and separation under one of Asia’s most protective labor codes.
The Philippine Labor Code is one of the most employee-protective in Asia, and the cost of getting it wrong — a defective termination, a misclassified contractor — usually arrives years later with interest. We keep employers on the right side of it, and we litigate when the dispute comes anyway.
Labor compliance
The day-to-day of this practice is keeping workplaces compliant: labor standards, workplace policies, and employment contracts that hold up under scrutiny. We guide employee discipline and termination so due process is done correctly the first time, and we structure contracting and outsourcing arrangements on the right side of the line between legitimate contracting and prohibited labor-only contracting. For foreign employers and foreign hires, we handle Alien Employment Permits, visas, and the rules for expatriate staff.
For employees
The Labor Code's protections only matter if someone enforces them. We act for employees and workers' groups pursuing what the law already promises them — wages and benefits withheld, dismissals carried out without cause or process, and claims that deserve to be heard rather than waited out. If you have been dismissed or short-changed, we will tell you honestly what your case is worth and what it will take.
Disputes
We represent clients in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the courts on appeal — illegal dismissal, money claims, and unfair labor practice cases among them. We have acted on both sides of the table, and knowing how each side builds its case is what makes our advice to either worth having.
Who we act for
Employers from single-site businesses to multinationals with Philippine workforces — and employees and workers' groups enforcing their rights. Labor law is two-sided by design; a firm that knows only one side gives narrower advice.
